Daily Symmetry
Woke up late this morning. Late by whose terms, though? It’s the school holidays, so no-one has to be up by a certain time, and I don’t have any meetings till the afternoon. I was up late writing about wraps (see the other Substack) and enjoying the cool of the evening. While I am enjoying these few days of it not raining, they are hotter than I prefer when I have work to get through and no swimming pool or stream or sea on my doorstep to jump in. So, I took some time to drink tea and do my little mindfulness exercise of symmetry drawing.
I get drawn into these and can switch off my thoughts for a while, and I forget how useful that is. They can sometimes end up looking awful or too much, and sometimes they can help with a new colour palette or brush discovery or just help my brain process a sticky problem it has been mulling over.
I thought I’d test out throwing one of these down every day in the daily ponderings section and using the app, if it will let me specify a section. With or without some actual pondering, depending on my mental energy on any given day. If it doesn’t let me specify a section, you’ll accidentally get a mid-week rambling in your inbox and I’ll work out if I have the space to draft in Word and copy and paste into the web app on a daily basis. I suspect not, honestly.
By the way… it doesn’t allow me to specify the section. Sorry.
