Illustrating life
Drawing and documenting the everyday
It occurred to me recently that one of the things I love illustrating most is life. That’s obviously quite a wide subject matter, and I suppose most illustration falls into that in some way, but for me it’s more about illustrating everyday life. The minutiae that fit together to fill our days.
Whether that’s a simple recipe.
Whether it’s friends lingering at a table chatting after dinner.
Whether it’s a child getting absorbed in play.
Or whether it’s the normal mess that gathers in a bedroom of a busy person.
Or even just some simple moments that spark an emotion.

NOTE: This is the first in a new newsletter that lives in ‘Substack’. I’m hoping to use this space to connect more frequently and probably with smaller snippets of new work or thoughts about process or freelance lifestyle, and so on. I have no idea, yet, how that will go, so I hope you’ll stick with me and forgive any bumpiness.

Hi Tasha! Looking forward to reading the newsletters to come.
