Welcome to Morning Ink, where I share my daily fountain pen drawing and whatever thoughts (sometimes none, mostly reasonably short, occasionally long and very rambling) jump out and onto the screen. If you don’t want daily emails you can toggle them off by going to Manage subscription – just turn Morning Ink off, no need to fully unsubscribe!1
Well, that was not the quick, draw one thing that I was aiming for with this new A6 sketchbook.
But that’s OK. And if I get through the whole small sketchbook and find that I was still spending as long on my Morning Ink practice as with the A5 ones, that’s OK, too. That’s important self-knowledge and self-awareness.
But it’s also likely that it was always going to be a long drawn-out leisurely page this morning, because (1) I do not have to get to my desk to do work (just have some invoices to send out) and (2) I have been sitting chatting with my sister and (3) I had a big busy weekend on the back of a few weeks of busy work.
We went to see Gifford Circus yesterday for the first time this year. If you have never been a d have the opportunity to do so, go! It’s absolutely brilliant and beautiful amd funny and inspirational.
I made lasagne yesterday. Vegetarian, not vegan. And was lovely. I made a mushroom, lentil and courgette filling, which is different from my usual filling as there were no aubergines in th Co-op. It worked really well, though, to the point I might switch to that regularly. It was, as anticipated, joyous to cook for lots of people.
And then we played games for a few hours after dinner, which was wonderful, with loads of laughter. Two games of Articulate, Harry Potter Dobble, a Friends trivia quiz and Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza.
Thanks so much for being here. Your presence on its own is a joy, but I love to hear from you, too, so please do feel free to leave a comment. About something that has resonated for you in today’s picture or in today’s words. Or about something completely unrelated. Tell me about your morning, your creative practice, your particular work or life juggling act. Anything. If you want to go even further you can take out a paid subscription – if you’re happy to give me your postal address I'll send you some art of some kind in the post.
And if you don’t like subscriptions (I totally get it!) you can ‘tip me’ instead. But really, your presence and comments are the best rewards – if they could be exchanged for food and electricity, I’d be so very happy.

As usual, your artwork is stunning Tasha, and if I could buy it in fabric, I would snatch it up in a nanosecond. I am the quilter from California who keeps urging you to do that. Look up Ruby star Society. Those women have an incredible thing going on And maybe you could fit into a genre like theirs.
