Yeah, drawing people quickly is hard. I am getting better at it in my sketchbook while out and about and just capturing the essence of the movement. But digitally? I want to go in and tweak and move and clean up and then tweak some more and add in some light and shade to show the creases in the clothes.
But the whole point of this daily practice is drawing QUICKLY. And writing QUICKLY. So this is my super-quick rendition of me going for a WALK! It is most certainly not a ‘finished’ piece!
Walking is one of things on my new habit tracker (part of the new course I am doing with Inky Goodness Collective). I have had periods where I have walked about 5 miles a day, but I have lapsed a lot recently. And also with most other exercise, so I have quite a few small things to do in terms of exercise. Starting very small (e.g. one 3000-step walk a day) so that I can embed those before trying to add more steps, more time, or harder exercise.
Starting tomorrow. But I went for a walk today, anyway, because it was a beautiful day and also to check in with where on the route would be around 1500 steps (and therefore making 3000 in total). It was lovely and I had to be strict and turn round when I got to 1500 steps, rather than keep going, because it was such a beautiful day. But if I had gone on, there’s a very good chance I would not have felt up to it tomorrow. This way, I should be eager to go. Plus it was almost exactly 30 minutes, which I think is a manageable nugget of time to fit into a day.
(The other exercise-related things I’m doing are 10 minutes of yoga, 10 minutes of dancing and a 30-second plank. Also easy to fit in.)
Daily walking is a great time for creative brainstorming along with being exercise. Enjoy your day.
