Welcome January
Free printable calendar page
I’ll be back tomorrow with my weekly round-up of my creative practice, but I thought I’d send you a super quick note and the gift of a printable calendar page.
I also shared a 2026 Bingo Card printable in this post (not as pretty, but you still might find it helpful; also I used some typewriter fonts because I really wanted a typewriter and thought I’d ‘fake it’ but my family tells me that it makes it look military orders or a police file, so apologies for that!):
The ten themes I cam up with for myself are:
Interest
Reading
Language
Movement and strength
Home improvement
Financial maturity
Confidence
Joy
Creativity
With ‘Interest’ also being my theme for the year. For me, it means following what interests me as much as possible. So, going with the flow of a particular rabbit hole or hyperfocus, choosing the interesting jobs wherever possible, listening to interesting podcasts and reading interesting books, and visiting interesting exhibitions and seeing interesting plays and films and, well, really the ‘following what interests me as much as possible’ actually says it all.
I’d love to hear your theme or word for the year, if you have one, and if you did my 2026 Bingo card and picked some themes and would like to share them, I’d love to hear them, too. But also keep them to yourself if that feels better.
And Happy New Year, again.
I’m sharing my Morning Ink daily on Notes and on my Sketchbook Instagram account, if you’re missing the daily dose of black and white drawing.
Thanks so much for being here. Your presence on its own is a joy, but I love to hear from you, too, so please do feel free to leave a comment. About something that has resonated for you in this week’s pictures. Or just about something that’s happened in your life or your creative practice. Anything. If you want to go even further you can take out a paid subscription – if you’re happy to give me your postal address I’ll send you some art of some kind in the post.
And if you don’t like subscriptions (I totally get it!) you can ‘tip me’ instead. But really, your presence and comments are the best rewards – if they could be exchanged for food and electricity, I’d be so very happy.
